It’s the little things – Pinhole surgery, using a surgical guide. Precise accuracy in planning and execution of surgical procedures is important in securing a high success rate. To achieve this we use 3D implant planning software that allows us to produce a surgical guide for each individual patient. The use of this surgical guide enables Dr Henry to perform pinhole surgery, reducing discomfort during treatment and minimizing recovery time afterwards.
Many of our patients have noted they couldn’t even tell they had anything done!
Need to know more about dental implants?
The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts, which are inserted into the jawbone where the teeth are missing.
These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jawbone. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth, this process is called ‘Osseo integration’.
Small posts are then attached to the implant. These posts provide anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
Implants can be used to restore a single tooth using a crown, two or more teeth using a fixed bridge or a full set of dentures.
Replacing teeth with implants helps to preserve facial structure which can prevent bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.
Other options of replacing missing teeth include: crown and bridge or removable dentures.
