Our Technology

At First Choice Dental we have been investing in upgrading and staying up to date with new innovations.

N

CEREC

CEREC stands for Ceramic Reconstruction and is a sophisticated system of designing and making high quality, metal-free dental restorations in one patient visit. Developed by Sirona, CEREC utilizes 3D photography and CAD/CAM technology to assist Dr Henry in designing the onlay, inlay, crown, or bridge without taking impressions. When combined with a milling unit, we are able to build the tooth in minutes, while you are still in the chair. Previously, it would take a number of appointments before the crown was issued, requiring you to take more time off work to have this done.

Intra oral camera

This is a digital camera that allows the dentist to see in more detail the condition of your teeth. It helps diagnose fractures that the naked eye cannot see. It also allows you, the patient to be able to see exactly what we see and have explained any problem areas that are now visible.

Magnification

You can’t get much closer than this! We use a dental microscope and/or dental loupes (magnification devices that allow us to see small details clearly) which permit us to get up close and personal with your teeth.

Lasers

Lasers can be used in dentistry in many areas. As a modern and up to date practice, First Choice Dental has this latest technology. Using the laser provides you with greater comfort, a speedier recovery and the sound knowledge that the investments we make are for your care.

Lasers like DIAGNODent are used to detect caries whereas the DIODE Laser assists with soft tissue management, such as gum treatment, stopping bleeding, re-contouring the gum as well as many other applications.

Digital Radiograph

Digital Radiograph is a form of x-ray imaging that does not require the use of film. The advantage of this is the ability to transfer and enhance images without the downtime of having to process film. The digital x-ray is a quick and simple process that reduces the exposure to radiation.

Rotary instruments

When root canal is needed, we are equipped to give you the best result. Root canals are completed using top of the line rotary instruments to clean out the nerve. Throughout the procedure we bide by gold standard protection to prevent any bacteria from invading the nerve space. Dr Henry performs all root canal treatments under the magnification of a microscope allowing him to achieve the best results possible.
