Need to know more about dental bridges?

Crown “caps” are a type of dental restoration, which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement. Crowns and bridges are often used to improve the strength and/or appearance of teeth.

A dental bridge is used when multiple teeth are missing.

In cases where a CEREC crown or same day crown is not possible, we will take an impression of the prepared tooth or teeth and send away for the crown or bridge to be fabricated. The crown or bridge will then be inserted at a subsequent dental appointment.

Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using indirect methods.

Using any of these indirect methods allows the use of strong restorative materials which require time consuming fabrication methods, these may demand intense heat, such as casting metal or firing porcelain which would not be possible to complete inside the mouth.

The options of replacing missing teeth fall in two categories of either being fixed or removable.

The fixed options are usually:

The removable option is a denture in the form of partial or full denture (in a case where all teeth are missing).
